How do I find information on the NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP)?
There are two ways to find information on the NLLP, Browsing and Searching:
Browsing: you freely navigate through the site following the links and information on the pages
Searching: you access the Search Centre and by entering your key search words the search engine will return a list of matching results. For your convenience, a list of the available metadata (will be also provided) for the results to help you filter the information.

Search Centre:
- Select search scope - By default this will search all Portal but can be selected to search only the Information & Knowledge Sharing area or the Managed Lessons Learned area.
- Keyword search box – Insert one or more key-words to search on the site. A space between words is an implicit “OR”, the plus “+” and the minus “-“ operators before a word can also be used and will work as “AND” and “NOT” for the following word.
- Search button.
- Link to the advanced search page.
- If available will show a definition of the search keyword.
- If available will show a best bet (most likely result of your interest) for the search keywords suggesting a site to visit.
- List of available metadata on the search results. Clicking on the link offered will add the facet (a category of metadata) to the filter (see next point).
- Facet added to the search that will filter the results. To remove the facet click on the red cross.
- Search results area. If the results exceed the number of items per page it will paginate the results.
