rom 21 to 23 November, the JALLC held the year’s second iteration of the Local NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP) Manager Course at the NATO Communications and Information Academy facilities in Oeiras, Portugal. Course participants included representatives from the Dutch Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence as they prepare to adopt the NLLP as their National Lessons Learned Tool.
The NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP) is NATO’s centralized hub for all NATO Lessons Learned information. Observations, Lessons, and Lessons Learned-related documents can be submitted to the NLLP from all over NATO and Partner Nations. The NLLP ensures that this valuable information finds its way through the NATO Lessons Learned Process, which is how NATO learns and transforms as an organization. The JALLC provides a wide range of training courses on Lessons Learned topics, including this NLLP Managers course which is aimed at Lessons Learned Staff Officers or Local NLLP Managers from NATO Command Structure, NATO Force Structure, Centers of Excellences, and national entities.
The aim of this course was to develop participants’ proficiency in NLLP administration and involved hands-on training using the unclassified version of the NLLP. Five instructors from JALLC, assisted by a guest instructor from HQ Allied Land Command, provided participants with the opportunity to increase their NLLP knowledge and acquire the technical skills necessary to efficiently and effectively fulfil their roles as NLLP Managers.
This training focuses particularly on the practical use of the NLLP in order to facilitate the NATO Lessons Learned Process across the Alliance, ultimately improving the NATO Lessons Learned Capability.
